It’s that time again, the zone after Christmas and New Year where each day seems to merge into the day before. As you sit comfortably with your preferred beverage in hand, your thoughts inevitably have turned towards making your New Year Resolutions.
Losing weight, giving up smoking, finding the “perfect job” all rate highly. Instead of recycling those tired old resolutions, try making New Year Resolutions that you can not only achieve, but will also make a difference.
And the workplace is the perfect place to start.
Perhaps you could increase cultural understanding through organising special lunches and sharing the stories behind them, or instigate a Workplace Giving Programme, where employees can nominate a set amount to be automatically deducted from their salaries. On a smaller scale, perhaps you could set up a buddy system encouraging newer staff members.
