Known for their extensive range of specialty chemicals and precious minerals, this global company is at the forefront of exciting developments in energy storage technology. With the rapid increase in alternatives to combustible fossil fuels, they are collaborating with industry partners to deliver clean energy storage solutions. In line with their commitment to Japan, they are seeking to appoint a talented and dynamic professional to drive strategic partnerships across the region.

The Role

  • Evaluate market conditions and develop business plans to facilitate industry collaborations and technological partnerships
  • Establish respectful and enduring relationships with academic and automotive industry researchers
  • Build new product development strategies through championing of new ideas and local expertise, leading to the development of sales pipelines
  • Be involved in marketing activities to promote the breadth and depth of product range and potential use in emerging technologies
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive business investment proposals for senior management and third party stakeholder evaluation
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Have at least 5 years Business Development experience, preferably in the automotive sector
  • Hold recognised qualifications in Electrical, Chemical or Materials Engineering
  • Be fully proficient in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both domestic and international
  • Be inspired by technology and driven by the desire to effect change in a dynamic, technical environment
  • Have the flexibility to travel across Japan, Korea and China, with further international travel as required
  • Be a natural leader, inspiring and encouraging colleagues across multi-disciplined teams

While not essential, high regard will be given to candidates who have completed (or are currently undertaking) further studies towards an internationally recognised MBA.
