We have partnered with a respected Victorian organisation responsible for delivering some of the state’s most significant commemorative services.
We are seeking an experienced Events Program Manager to lead the planning and delivery of a highly regarded ceremonial program that honours history, brings communities together and ensures remembrance services are delivered with professionalism, dignity and precision.
This role offers the rare opportunity to coordinate major public services, work alongside veteran organisations, government representatives and community leaders and play a key role in preserving important traditions for future generations.
The Role
Reporting to the leadership team, you will oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of the organisation’s ceremonial program, ensuring each service is delivered to the highest standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the organisation’s Ceremonial Program, including planning and delivery of major commemorative services
- Coordinating the weekly remembrance service, including program development and stakeholder liaison
- Overseeing the delivery of large-scale commemorative events in partnership with veteran and community organisations
- Managing ceremonial program operating and project budgets
- Coordinating VIP participation, including senior government representatives and international guests
- Ensuring services adhere to established ceremonial protocols and organisational policies
- Coordinating the filming and online streaming of selected services
- Acting as the primary contact for the ceremonial program and collaborating with stakeholders including veteran organisations, defence personnel, police and community groups
- Managing administrative coordination including bookings, communications, calendar management and website listings
- Acting as Ceremonial MC when required
- Overseeing the coordination of flag protocols and ceremonial standards
- Supporting the administration of memorial services and commemorative installations
- Assisting in the management and upkeep of ceremonial facilities in collaboration with operational teams
- Acting as Duty Manager when required, supporting visitor services and front-of-house operations
- Supporting emergency response procedures and safety processes
About You
You will bring strong event leadership experience combined with the ability to work within ceremonial frameworks and stakeholder environments where professionalism and respect are paramount.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in event management, including planning, production and delivery
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise with senior government representatives, veteran organisations and community stakeholders
- Highly organised administrative and documentation skills
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines, particularly around major public events
- Experience working within structured processes such as procurement, governance or risk management frameworks
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety practices
- A genuine appreciation for organisations dedicated to commemoration, heritage and community service
