In any successful career there is typically one role that stands head & shoulders above the rest. THIS is THAT role. As a growing business unit within a highly prominent global business, we are looking for a General Manager who is equally exceptional to oversee growth through best practice mentoring, strategy development and implementation of industry leading operations.
Leading a team of around 50 talented staff, you will use your management expertise to:
- Drive sales strategy and oversee operations in line with company values and agreed performance objectives
- Mentor and develop staff to ensure both business and individuals develop their potential leading to high performing teams, operational excellence and career satisfaction
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, seeking to leverage opportunities across the business and provide a total solutions outcome for customers
- Be across local and regional market trends, identifying opportunities for new product development and/ or acquisition in line with global strategic vision and company values
- Champion the business within industry groups, at customer events and regional conferences, ensuring the business sets the high bar mark for the sector for product, operations and service levels
- Be a key member of the senior leadership team, representing the division in global and domestic discussions.
What are we looking for?
As this is a senior and hands-on leadership role within a significant business unit of a global company the successful candidate will:
- Have demonstrated success in a senior leadership role (e.g. General Manager, Sales Director or Business/Commercial Manager) in a progressive global company with a strong entrepreneurial pedigree and technical product portfolio
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Business/ Commerce or Engineering/Electronics. An MBA or other relevant post graduate qualifications would be highly regarded.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build and develop high performing collaborative teams and champion innovation and excellence across all activities
- Understand the nuances of a technical market, backed by excellent analytical skills and the capacity to develop and implement strategy leading to continuous improvement and ongoing growth
- Be an articulate advocate for the business unit in senior leadership meetings covering ANZ and global forums
- Consider yourself to be the “exceptional” manager who is passionate about their “patch” and dedicated to building and leading high performing teams within a collaborative environment
- Be looking for a hand-on role that offers a smorgasboard of opportunity & satisfaction on a big stage within an agile, progressive global organisation.
