Our client is a recognised leader in the car rental industry and is now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee their Victorian and Tasmanian network. This is a high-impact role for a confident operator who knows how to lift performance, lead teams and deliver exceptional customer experiences across multiple sites.
About the Role
As the Operations Manager for VIC & TAS, you’ll take the lead in driving service performance, people capability and operational excellence across the region. You’ll ensure every location runs smoothly, every vehicle is professionally presented, and every customer receives a consistently high standard of service.
You’ll work closely with managers, HR, Fleet, Sales and external partners, acting as the key connector across multiple functions. Your leadership will directly influence customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and overall business growth.
What You’ll Lead & Deliver
In this role, you’ll ensure all sites across the state operate to the highest standards. You’ll maintain exceptional service levels, oversee quality and audit performance, and drive initiatives that lift NPS and customer experience.
You’ll be a hands-on people leader — supporting managers, building capability, overseeing performance and nurturing a positive, customer-focused team culture. With HR, you’ll guide training needs, succession plans and staffing requirements, ensuring each location has the right team in place. You’ll also work closely with outsourced partners to keep vehicle presentation consistently high.
Operationally, you’ll partner with the Fleet team to ensure the right vehicle mix, strong utilisation and adherence to all preparation and maintenance standards. You’ll bring a strong commercial mindset, collaborating with Sales on tenders, major account support and opportunities to strengthen revenue and market share.
Across the broader network, you’ll oversee branch presentation, airport operations and franchise or agency sites, ensuring every location meets brand expectations. Safety will remain a priority — you’ll lead WHS practices, respond quickly to hazards and maintain excellent compliance and audit outcomes.

What You Bring
• At least 5 years’ experience in the car rental industry
• Strong multi-site or major airport operational leadership experience
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• A commercial mindset with strong problem-solving ability
• Degree qualifications in logistics, business or related fields (desirable)
• A positive, energetic leadership style with strong emotional maturity
• Calm under pressure, resilient and solutions-focused
• Highly organised, accountable and driven
• Confident in coaching, mentoring and driving behavioural change
