On the back of consistently low numbers from ramped up testing efforts, the prospect of unwinding the restrictions is now in sight.
Now is the time to start planning what your workplace will look like quite possibly for some time to come. Social distancing, ensuring personal hygiene standards and increased cleaning of shared spaces will likely be the new norm.
The above measures will be reasonably easy to implement but the issue which will require more thought and planning is how you will deal with any health related matters. Do you implement contactless temperature checks? Perhaps encouraging your employees to download the Covid Safe App and having the influenza vaccine are worth considering. The more complex issue is dealing with any potential outbreaks. If you have not done so already, it would be prudent to develop and circulate a special Covid-19 policy, clearly outlining both employer and employee responsibilities.
During the next week or so, get that coffee brewing and fire up a Zoom meeting with your leadership team. Hopefully, you will be hanging out the “Open for Business” sign again soon.
