Heading into the final weeks of 2020 doubt many of us are eagerly waiting to shut the door on what has been an extraordinary year. Kicking off the year with bushfires ravaging our country and a spiky little protein ball virus brought havoc and heartache into our lives, we have also learned to be just as extraordinary.
We have found a new team of “Super Hero’s”, those men and women quite literally on the front line. Emergency Service workers, medical teams, transport workers, cleaners and those who continued to keep the supply chain have been the bedrock of Australians living our lives in relative safety.
Just as the bush regenerates after a fire, so too do people. We have shown incredible resilience during 2020, adapting to the enforced lockdowns with courage, perseverance and a sense of humour that refused to be thwarted. Family, friends and rediscovering community kept us upbeat, hopeful and with a sense of purpose.
2020 has been a tough year in business, but champions once again shone through. Those with the ability to innovate and pivot, tapping into new markets proved how successful we can be, even in the toughest of tough times. Many in industries that were forced to close for months on end are bouncing back, proving determination and a creative approach are the keys to success.
As we head into this, the final week before Christmas, and the waning of the most difficult year in recent memory, we can take pride in our endurance and courage in the face of an invisible threat to our normal lives. We had lamented for so long that life was too fast, too much pressure and not enough time for the important things. 2020 gave us time, a circuit breaker amid the chaos and loss. Let’s use that precious gift of time to enjoy spending the holiday season with loved ones, even those that are still physically distanced from us.
Merry Christmas from the team at Arrow Group. We join with you in eager anticipation of 2021, hopeful for happier and safer times for all.
